The Stem Project

The STEM Project (Sustainable Together through Environmental Management) is delivered by the Southern Group Environmental Health Committee. STEM will work with 270 cross border small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) and 9 Councils to help them reduce the environmental impact of their activities through the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS).

The STEM Project is the largest environmental project of its kind in Europe . Businesses from all industry sectors are offered free technical advice and assistance to help guide them through the often daunting and expensive process of implementing an EMS . An EMS can help businesses reduce their costs, win new business, improve their compliance to environmental legislation and enhance their image. STEM helps businesses to take responsibility for the environmental impact of their activities, by managing and reducing these impacts it will help create a sustainable environment for everyone.
