Community Eco-Challenge

The Community Eco-Challenge is a pilot project for Northern Ireland. It will help 5 local community groups (100 households) over the next year, to calculate how sustainable (or not) their lifestyles are.

Through close mentoring and support by the Community Eco-Challenge team, the groups will be encouraged to make simple lifestyle changes in order to move towards a way of life which reduces their impact on the natural world.

The aim of this conference is to demonstrate to local government that ecological footprinting can be used as an indicator of sustainable development and help inform policy decisions.
